MI vs KKR, IPL 2014

The opening match of IPL 2014 between MI and KKR at 8am I.S.T in Sheikh Zayed Staium, Abu Dhabi.

Let's start with the teams first.
The MI (Mumbai Indians). They had always been a very smart player in the auctions, but this year, I don't think so they have done something special. Corey Anderson is injured. M Hussey hasn't played competitive cricket for a while, but presence of him in the dressing room will be great and will encourage many players. Released players like Mitchell Johnson and Glenn Maxwell. So, A tough job is ahead for the MI to defend their title. The bowling department is lead by none other than Lasith Malinga. Harbhjan and Ojha could prove a point with their spin. Zaheer Khan is wanting to make a comeback and the stage is set for him. Medium pacer Jaspreet Bumrah who had a fantastic domestic season, will be the player to watch out for. But, given the T20 arena, it will be interesting to watch how he varies. My playing eleven for todays match will be as follows :
1. M. Hussey
2. R. Sharma(c)
3. A. Tare(wk)
4. B. Dunk
5. A. Rayudu
6. K. Pollard
7. J. Bumrah
8. H. Singh
9. L. Malinga
10. Z. Khan
11. P. Ojha

Foreign Player to watch out for- Ben Dunk.

Now, The KKR (Kolkata Knight Riders). Their strength lies their bowling. Morne Morkel and Sunil Narine can destroy the oppositions batting in no time. And they have Indian players also Vinay Kumar and Umesh Yadav along with the spinner Piyush Chawla. Patrick Cummins is an option too. It will be interesting to see how Gautam Gambhir selects the team with respect to the foreign player restriction. The team is very good, absolutely packed with match winners. Gautam Gambhir is one of them, then you have Y. Pathan who can change the game in one over and can bowl in some few overs when the opposition is under pressure and get through overs quickly. He can open the bowling too. This team in this years auctions have picked an all round team- Jacques Kallis, Ryan Ten doescahte, Shakib Al Hasan and Andre Russel. but the point is, if they are playing Morkel and Narine both, then they can select only 2 of these all rounders, and I think that is great. 2 all rounders in one team, when the opposition hardly has anyone. Their domestic strength is also great with players like Robin Uthappa, Suryakumar Yadav, and Manvinder Bisla. Player to watch out for is Robin Uthappa.
My playing eleven as follows :
1. Gautam Gambhir(c)
2. R. Uthappa
3. M. Bisla(wk)
4. J. Kallis
(any order these batsman can bat.)
5. S. Hasan
6. S. Yadav
7. Y. Pathan
8. P. Chawla
9. Vinay Kumar
10. M. Morkel
11. S. Narine.

Foreign Player to watch out for- Shakib Al Hasan.

Sit back and relax. One team is going to win and the other is going to lose.

Head to head :
Mumbai Indians with an exceptional record over Kolkata Knight riders winning 10 out of the 12 games played.

The Pitch :Not more T20 matches played on this pitch, but believe, the spin going to play a major role and both sides have spinners, so its tough to pick a winner especially in T20 format

I am a MI fan from the start so I feel MI will win today's match.
