MI vs SRH, IPL 2014

Today, is the battle of the two teams lying at the bottom. While the SRH have managed to win at least 1, the MI, the defending champions are winless so far in the tournament.

The MI (Mumbai Indians). Poor from the start. Poor at the auctions. Ponting is the advisor for the team, Sachin is the icon for the team, Anil kumble the mentor. Time for these guys to come up and give a motivational speech as SRK did in Chak de India. Today, is their chance to get a win against the vulnerable looking SRH. They tried doing things differently in the last match. Rohit Sharma opened the innings and I liked it. M. Hussey is completely out of form. With, Lendl Simmons is returning for injured Jalaj Saxena, I guess MI should play him or Ben Dunk, the Australian dasher in place of Mike Hussey. But, given the sub continent conditions, I will go with Lendl Simmons. Bowling is also a big concern for them. Lasith Malinga hasn't looked so good, its because of the batting, Bowlers are coming under pressure. Zaheer Khan needs to get all his experience into play. The fact is the MI have to play mentally today rather just going and looking to smack each ball. Corey Anderson, who batted at 3, the last match did not impress. He is good for the bouncy tracks but not so on spin tracks. MI will be hoping for him to play well at least when IPL returns to India. My team for today will be-
1. R. Sharma (c)
2. A. Tare
3. L. Simmons
4. A. Rayudu
5. B. Dunk
6. K. Pollard
7. CM Gautam (wk)
8. H. Singh - Player to watch out for.
9. L. Malinga
10. Z. Khan
11. P. Suyal

The SRH (Sunrisers Hyderabad). They have not performed as to their potential. The reason for this, according to me is the Captain, Shikhar Dhawan. When you have an International captain like Darren Sammy in the team, why give the captaincy to a player who is not even the Vice Captain for his national team. Poor decisions at the wrong time have cost them badly. With firepower of Dhawan Finch Warner Sammy and bowling of Dale Steyn, this team looked like favorites. Being called the best bowling line up, they have conceded runs. The team management should take a look and either make some changes or change the captain. I would go with Darren Sammy as the captain. Looks unlikely though. And, the batting looks dependent on the three- Dhawan Finch and Warner. A good plan will be to make Dhawan Finch and Warner to play in gaps and not one after the other. Finch who is a T20 specialist played his last innings a run a ball because of the pressure on him. My team for today will be-
1. D. Warner
2. V. Rao
3. S. Dhawan
4. A. Finch
5. KL Rahul (wk)
6. I. Pathan
7. D. Sammy (c)- Player to watch out for.
8. K. Sharma
9. A. Mishra
10. D. Steyn
11. B. Kumar

HEAD TO HEAD:
Played 2 MI 1 SRH 1
